The main character in this young-adult novel, is a high-school-aged girl who can astral project and doesn’t know that’s what she’s doing. The story unfolds as Sylvie discovers who she is while learning how to feel comfortable in her own skin. The design brief called for moody and mysterious, but not too dark. Many competing titles in this genre resort to Twighlight-esque gothic treatments. My goal was to keep the imagery simple and compelling, and to use the book’s title typography to convey a sense of weightlessness.

"Sue not only does her job, she takes the time to get to know the manuscript. I also appreciated the dialogue between the two of us, and how she took my suggestions on board. She came to the project with passion and enthusiasm and a sense of discovery. I never felt this was work for her, but play — serious play, but play all the same. Sue created a mood with simple graphics and designed a cover that's unique and powerful." Katie Hayoz, author
